The Jersey office of this international bank is actively seeking a Compliance Advisory Manager.
The Compliance Advisory Manager is charged with acting as Manager for the Compliance function in the Channel Islands and to ensure the development of a strong Compliance culture across the bank on both islands.
At centre of the Compliance Advisory Manager’s remit is to support the business in its management and mitigation of Money Laundering risk
resulting from non-compliance with internal / external standards & regulations.
Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance you will (should your application be successful) act as Manager within the Compliance team and be responsible for co-ordinating the provision of effective and efficient Anti Money Laundering (AML) support, advice and counsel.
You will manage the AML Compliance Team to ensure adequate coverage and support for the bank under a risk-based approach and through satisfactory performance of all AML Compliance employees.
You will assist with the development, implementation continuing operation of robust but proportionate systems and controls to manage the Compliance risk, including (but not limited to) oversight controls in respect of new business acceptance.
You will oversee / support the management of higher risk activities and relationships and support the preparation of all compliance reporting to relevant management committees and operating company boards.
The Compliance Advisory Manager also supports the development, implementation and ongoing operation of AML monitoring systems and tools and works with Central Compliance Operations to support the local implementation of AML Compliance policies. Finally you will liaise with the Global AML Compliance function i) to ensure consistency of standards, and ii) to meet all Head Office AML reporting requirements.
To be considered for the Compliance Advisory Manager vacancy you should already be a skilled and experienced Compliance officer / manager
with sufficient relevant AML, business and general experience, who is familiar with most aspects of banking compliance.
Individuals who have gained that experience working for a Channel Islands based bank will be given preference.
It is expected you will be University educated with a degree, and/or appropriate designations as compliance professional, professional designation in other appropriate areas such as law, risk management and/or audit.
